    Iva Jean Truett, 90, of Andrews, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at her residence.
    She was a native of Andrews, and had lived in Virginia and Gastonia before moving back to Andrews in 1967.
    Jean worked several years for Berkshire and Lee’s.
    She was a member of the McClelland Cove Baptist Church.
    She was the daughter of the late Wally Ross and Carmen Carver Whitaker, and wife of the late Robert Cecil Truett, who died Nov. 25, 2001.
    Surviving are a daughter, Diane Love and husband Tommy of Andrews; two sons, Lee S. Truett and wife Marie, and Robert Junior Truett and wife Connie, all of Andrews; two sisters, Shirley Whitaker of Andrews and Nellie Haney of Bessemer City; a brother, Larry Whitaker of Dallas, N.C.; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, with the Revs. Patrick O’Dell and Chase Stewart officiating. The interment was in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tommy Love, Luke, Lane and Justin Odom, Reece Postell and Justin Whitaker.
    The family received friends from 1-1:50 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, prior to the services.
