Gerald Harvey
Gerald W. Harvey 82, of Andrews, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, in a Murphy care facility.
He was born in Winterhaven, Fla., but had lived in Haines City, Fla., and later graduated from
Haines City High School. Gerald then attended The Citadel where he received a bachelor’s degree in business.
Gerald began working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 1966. In 1972, he was employed in foreign service. He retired in 1994 as a Senior Foreign Service Officer. Gerald had been stationed in Germany twice, Egypt and Poland.
Gerald was an avid reader, history buff and enjoyed gardening.
He was the son of the late Willis and Roumelle Harvey.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ursula Harvey; daughters, Sarah Britt Harvey of Hendersonville, and Susannah Rachel Harvey of Asheville; one grandson, Ian James Formato of Hendersonville; and a sister, Gayle Harvey Maiden of Andrews.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, is in charge of all arrangements.
