    Gerald Ray Adams, 79, of Andrews, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
    Gerald was born in Cherokee County to the late Charles and Elsie Blaylock Adams.
    He had worked for Magnavox and for Baker’s Furniture where he retired.
    Gerald loved genealogy and researching his family tree. He also loved to sing, was a church choir member and a member of a local quartet, Gospel Tone.
    Gerald was a loving son and caregiver to his parents.
    He was a member of Valley River Baptist Church.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles Clayton, and his brothers, Giles Adams, Roger Adams and Loren “N.L.” Adams; and sister, NuJean Adams Wilson.
    Gerald is survived by his brother, Joe Adams; his sisters, Helen Rogers and Marie Collins; and several nieces and nephews.
    A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. The Revs. Ricky Rogers and Trey Rogers officiated. Burial was in Valley River Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Adams, Kevin Adams, Ethan Collins, Mason Collins, Mark Collins and David Rogers.
    The family received friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
