    George Henry Allison, 75, of Marble, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020, at his home.
    George was a native of Cherokee County. He was a son of the late Ben and Marie Gladson Allison.
    George was a U.S. Marine veteran, and served during the Vietnam War.
    He worked for MGM Brakes for 45 years.
    He loved his family, hunting, fishing and gardening.
    He was an active member of Tomotla Baptist Church.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Allison.
    George is survived by his wife of 51 years, Juanita Allison; sons, Shane Allison and wife Kristie, and Adam Allison; granddaughters, Lexie Powell and husband Adam, Maggie and Madilyn Allison; brothers, James, Kenneth and Tom Allison; sisters, Betty Whitener, Lois Menasion, Helen Bzotte and Sue Ledford; special niece, Leoia “Sissie” Penland; and several other nieces and nephews.
    A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 6, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Pastors Harold Stiles and Zackary Orton officiated. Military honors were conducted by the veterans organizations: V.F.W. Post 10222, Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post 96 and DAV Chapter 73, American Legion Post 532 of Hayesville and VFW Post 6812, Hayesville.
    The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 6, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
