    Freda Mae Gilbert Rudder, 82, of Cochran, Ga., passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020, after a long, hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s disease and dementia.
    She was born in Cherokee, N.C., and raised in Blairsville, Ga., in the Bellview community.
    Freda lived in Douglasville and Mableton, Ga., Algonquin, Ill., Rockaway, N.J., Orlando, Fla., and Huntsville, Ala., before moving to Cochran in 2004 to be close to her daughter.
    She retired as an office administrator, but her most cherished work was as a Nana and caregiver to her family.
    Freda was a proud member of First Baptist Church of Cochran and the Lucile Wilson Sunday School Class.
    She was the daughter of the late Fred and Emma Roberson Gilbert, and wife of the late Bobby Joel Rudder, who died in 2014. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Irene Turner;
and four brothers, Paul Gilbert, Charles Gilbert, Dillard Gilbert and J.T. Gilbert.
    Survivors are her daughter, Catherine Williams and husband,Thomas of Cochran, Ga.; two grandchildren, Addison “Tinkerbell” Williams and Tyler Williams (Shana).
    A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, with the Rev. Jewell “Jody” Turner officiating. The inurnment will follow at Bellview Community Cemetery.
    The family will receive friends from noon-1:50 p.m. Saturday at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, prior to the services.
    Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, is in charge of all arrangements.
