Fred Carter Abbott, 78, of Murphy, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022.
He was born March 22, 1943, in Bainbridge, Ga., to the late Theodore and Florrie Shealy Abbott.
Fred served our country as a United States Vietnam Navy veteran. He had worked as a welder in industrial fabrication. He loved his motorcycle, jeep, boating and fishing. Fred was a member of Blue Ridge Mountain Jeepers Group in Blairsville, Ga.
He loved turning wood, making bowls and vases, and Scroll saw work.
Fred was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy G. Abbott.
Surviving are his wife, Sue Abbott; sons, John A. Taylor and wife Brenda, and Barry A. Taylor; a brother, Charles E. Abbott and wife Claudia; a sister, Mary C. Abbott and her husband, Robert Travison; and grandchildren, Tiffany and Victoria Davis.
No services are planned at this time.
