Fred Carter Abbott, 78, of Murphy, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022.
He was born March 22, 1943, in Bainbridge, Ga., to the late Theodore and Florrie Shelay Abbott.
Fred had worked as a welder in industrial fabrication. He loved his motorcycle, jeep, boating and fishing.
Fred was a member of Blue Ridge Mountain Jeepers Group in Blairsville, Ga. He loved turning wood, making bowls and vases, and Scroll saw work.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy G. Abbott.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Abbott; sons, John A. Taylor and wife Brenda, and Barry A. Taylor; a brother, Charles E. Abbott and wife Claudia; a sister, Mary C. Abbott and Robert Travison; and grandchildren, Tiffany and Victoria Davis.
