    Frankie Dockery, 80, of Murphy, passed away Friday, Nov. 26, 2021.
    He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, and the son of the late Arvel and Maida Ramsey Dockery.
    Frankie worked for A&P as the market manager for over 29 years, Piggly Wiggly for 13 years and MGM Brakes for five years.
    He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors. Frankie enjoyed taking care of his yard and flowers; he had a green thumb.
    He was a beloved husband to Betty. Frankie loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    He was a member of Tomotla Baptist Church.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer and Benny Dockery.
    He is survived by his wife, Betty Dockery; son, Darrell Dockery (Brenda); two daughters, Lesia Hooper (James) and Kelly Millsaps, all of Murphy; two brothers, Kenneth Dockery (Donna) of Murphy, and Maxey Dockery (Wanda) of Copperhill, Tenn.; sisters, Mildred Cornwell and Karen Bates of Murphy, and Janice Dockery of Raleigh; six grandchildren, Samantha Dockery, Taylor Dockery, Devin Dockery, Ciera Dockery, Kamberlyn Hooper and Kaseson Hooper; and five great grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy. Pastor Harold Stiles officiated. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Darrell Dockery, James Hooper, Kaseson Hooper, Devin Dockery, Brad Olive, Mike Cook and Jeff Cook.
    The family received friends from 1-3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
