    Eva Rogers McCray, 89, of Hayesville, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021.
    She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County.
    Eva had worked for Clifton Precision for 28 years until her retirement.
    Eva was a wonderful homemaker to her entire family. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, traveling, working in her flowers and gardening with her husband. Eva had a passion for people and portrayed unconditional love for both family and friends.
    She was a devoted Christian and member of Fires Creek Baptist Church.
    She was the daughter of the late Ulysess and Mae Rogers, and wife of the late Harold McCray, who died Oct. 11, 2020. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sandra Katherine Beasenburg; four sisters, Louise, Francis and Betty Rogers and Stella Doran; and three brothers, Lewis, Willis and Ray Rogers.
    Surviving are two daughters, Carol Gibson and husband Joe of Andrews, and Linda Beasenburg and husband Mathew of Calhoun, Ga.; a son, Wayne McCray and wife Betty of Jamestown; brother, Jimmy Rogers, of Murphy; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
    A private funeral service will be held and followed by a graveside service at Fires Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dallas Crowder officiating. Pallbearers will be Joe Gibson, Matt Beasenburg, Mark Harris, Tim Hogsed, Brent Burch and Peter Ormerod. Honorary pallbearers will be Bailey Hogsed, Zack Hogsed, David Clayton, Jason Pauling and Jacob Harris.
    Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville, is in charge of all arrangements.
