    Ethel G. Jones, 93, of Andrews, took her heavenly flight on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, at 8:15 a.m. at her home with her daughter, Pansy, and granddaughter, Leigh, by her side.
    She was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Kent, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late George and Estelle Wilkins Garrett, who lived in Hayesville.
    She loved to sew, go to church and was artistically multi-talented. She was a member of Murphy Church of God.
    She retired from Baker’s Furniture in Andrews.
    She was preceded by her brothers, John, Fred and Luther Garrett; her daughter, Patsy and son, Ramen.
    Surviving are her sister, Elizabeth Garrett; daughter, Pansy (P.J.); sons, Charles and Harvey Jones. She has six grandchildren, Leigh, Christy (husband Eric), Brook (husband Dr. Eugene Simopoulos), April, Laura and David. She has six great-grandchildren, Katie, Jennilynn, Shawn, Dorian, Thalia and Aristotle. Also, special friends, Tammy Jones, Dianne Morrow, Lori Travers and Dr. Thomas Clayton.
    Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 23, at Cochran Funeral Home in Murphy, with Pastor Phillip Cochran officiating. Music was provided by Mary Alice Newton and Christy Jordan. Pallbearers were Charles Jones, Eric Jordan, Jarrett Moses and Allen Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Harvey Jones, David Jones, Carlos Curtis, Junior Rowland and Archie Tabor.
    Visitation was from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, and the funeral service began at 3 p.m. The burial service was at Valleytown Cemetery in Andrews.
    Arrangements were entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy.
