Emily Thompson

   Emily Pickens Thompson, 75, of Andrews, passed away Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, in Fort Myers, Fla.
   She was a born in Kane, Pa., and lived most of her life in Cherokee County. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother.
   She was a member of Andrews United Methodist Church.
   She was survived by her husband, Jerry Thompson; and two daughters, Tammi and husband David Queen, and Tiffani and husband James Hall; four grandchildren, Baylee Hall and wife Tristiney, Landyn Hall and girlfriend Ally Ayers, Kinleigh and Brady Queen; and two great-granddaughters Saylor and Averi Hall. Emily was survived by one sister, Mary Parker of Titusville, Pa.; and many other nieces and nephews.
   On Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, the family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. at Andrews United Methodist Church in Andrews. A celebration of life will follow at 3 o’clock. The service will be officiated by Pastor Kathleen McAbee.
   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elizabeth Petrolle Scholarship Fund at Andrews High School, 50 High School Dr., Andrews, NC 28901.
