    Eldon Larry Rogers, 87, of Marble, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020.
    He was born in Cherokee County to the late Albert “A.C.” and Nora Worley Rogers.
    Eldon was a tunnel driller. He was kind hearted and generous.
    Eldon traveled throughout the U.S. for work and adventure. His interests and hobbies included western movies, motorcycles, stock car racing, gem hunting, woodworking and knitting.
    Eldon was of the Baptist faith.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Charlie, Clarence, James and Bud Rogers; and a granddaughter, Cassandra Smith.
    Eldon is survived by his son, Todd Rogers; daughter, Pondarosa Cutshaw and husband Eric; sisters, Monda Prince and Sadie Debty; and several nieces and nephews.
    A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Rev. Randal Johnson officiated. Burial was in Rowland Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brandon DeHart, Richard Lunsford, Johnny Debty, Walter Debty, Robert Debty, William Debty, William Phillips and Dustin Phillips.
    The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
