Elbert Stevens

    Elbert Stevens, 84, of Andrews, passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, in a Chattanooga, Tenn., hospital.
    He was born May 10, 1937, in Clay County but had lived most of his life in Andrews. He enjoyed being on the go, and talking and carrying on with those he ran across.
    Elbert was of the Baptist faith.
    He was the son of the late Carl and Ora Lee Hooper Stephens.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Mae Norris and Marcella McMahan.
    He is survived by a sister, Oma Stevens of Andrews; two nephews, Keith McMahan and wife Joan of Hayesville, and Billy Norris of South Carolina; and a niece, Kathy Norris of South Carolina.
    Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Valleytown Cemetery in Andrews, with the Rev. Harold Stiles officiating.
    The family received friends from 1-1:45 p.m. at Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, prior to the service.
    Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, was in charge of arrangements.
