    Edlee Gibby, 99, of Andrews, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, in Andrews.
    She was born March 3, 1920, and grew up on Junaluska Creek section of Cherokee County.
    She attended a one-room schoolhouse on Junaluska Creek till moving into town and was part of the 1940 graduation class of Andrews High School.
    She attended Andrews Church of God, enjoyed reading her Bible and Guide Post magazine. She nurtured many flowers at home and Seven Springs Nursery. She loved butterflies, roosters and chickens, which many people gifted her.
    She was known by many in Andrews as the Avon Lady for more than 20 years. She did not receive her driver’s license until she was in her 50s, but drove till she was 95 years old.
    Edlee was a simple, selfless, precious lady who put no thing or person before her family. She devoted her life to her family.
    She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Ashley Jordan; mother, Jincy Gibby; and siblings, Agnew “Ag,” Arthur, Hub, Lucy and Jack.
    Survivors include a daughter, Lois Baker; grandchildren, Teresa Hardin, Joy Acker, Jimmy Hardin, Rhonda Smiley and Donna Earwood; great-grandchildren, Roman Bailey, Zachery Acker, Kanon Acker and Haylee Smiley; great-great-grandchildren, Olivia, Landon and Taylor Jordan.
    Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with pastor Kirk Ledford and the Rev. Dean Gibby officiating. Music was provided by Hayden Smiley, Brenda Gibby and Abby Gail Smith.
    Interment followed in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rhonda Smiley, Roman Bailey, Hayden Smiley, Josh Smiley, Chris Jones, Landon Jordan and Darren Holden.
    Arrangements were entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy.
