Doyle Smith, 76, of Murphy, passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at his residence.
Doyle was born in Arkansas and spent most of his life sailing and traveling the world. He settled in Murphy in 1974 and became a farmer. He opened Doyle’s Cedar Hill restaurant on Andrews Road in 2002.
He was the son of the late Irvin Walter and Dessie Velma Taylor Smith. Doyle was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Joyce Mills, and three brothers, Sibley, Eddie and Ray Smith.
Surviving are one son, Jeremiah Smith and wife Ellie of Murphy; three granddaughters, Miah Rose, Charlotte Rose and Kentlee Rain Smith; a sister, Margaret Clem; and a brother, J.T. Smith and wife Katherina.
A private gathering was held for the family with interment on the family farm.
Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, is in charge of arrangements.
