    Dorothy Louise Patterson, 65, of Bluff Road, Marble, passed away peacefully Friday July 2, 2021, in the Murphy Rehabilitation & Nursing Home following an extended illness.
    Dorothy was born Dec. 24, 1955, in Canton, the daughter of the late Alan and Dorothy Bell.
    Dorothy loved crafting; she spent her free-time sewing, crocheting and cross-stitching.
    She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
    She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
    Survivors include her loving husband, James Patterson of Marble; one son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Dr. Kalani Patterson of Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Misty Patterson Elmore and Dr. Rick Elmore of Boone; one brother, Charlie Rider of Murphy; two sisters, Barbara Ponder of Nashville, Tenn., Glenda Styles of Nashville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Madelyn Elmore, Evangeline Patterson and Fritz Patterson. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
    Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday July 3, from the Valleytown Church Cemetery in Andrews with the Rev. Dwight Reed officiating. Special music was presented by Diane Chastain, Justin and Jason Chastain, and George VanBuskirk. The following gentleman served as pallbearers: Max Patterson, Randy Barton and Rick Elmore. The family met with friends following the services.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Dorothy’s memory.
    Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville, Ga., was in charge of the arrangements.
