Donald “Donnie” Lovingood, 71, of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
Donnie was born Jan. 21, 1951, in Cherokee County, to the late Don and Edna Kephart Lovingood.
He was a heavy equipment operator.
Donnie was an avid fisherman and loving husband.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Kephart, and an infant brother, Dale.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tammy Lovingood; daughter, Mandy Stiles and husband Dewayne; son, Barry Dockery and wife Kirbie; brother, Dwight Kephart; sister, Diane Holloway; grandchildren, Bryson Stiles, Allison Stiles, Britt, Lucas, and Kallie Dockery; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Dr. Eddis Dockery officiated. Burial was in Hanging Dog Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Lovingood, Dale Holloway, Joshua Holloway, Bryson Stiles, Doyle Chambers and Tommy Roberts. Honorary pallbearers were David Cole, Rollin Williams, Loren Dockery and Brian Dyers.
The family received friends from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
