Body

Donald Jay Kremer passed peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, with his loving wife holding his hand. He passed in Orlando, Fla., following a full and blessed life.
Born June 29, 1932, in Park Ridge, Ill., he married the love of his life on Dec. 18, 1954.
Don is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marlyn Margaret Holze Kremer; his four children: Cynthia Falkey (Paul), Vivian Powers (Mark Dash), Donald Kremer Jr. (Denise), Deborah Hale and (PK). Don had eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, plus one on the way.
Don graduated from Northwestern in 1955 with his civil engineering degree, before heading off to serve in the Army. As a civil engineer, he built roads all across our nation and even on islands in the Caribbean, eventually founding his own successful engineering firm in Miami.
His decades long pride and joy was their North Carolina mountain cabin, which they designed and built. Gazing upon the beauty of nature from the deck, he enjoyed the ever evolving landscape and this brought him peace.
In addition to his military service, Don’s life was filled with family and volunteer activities, including teaching Sunday school, the Lions club and coaching boys and girls in baseball and softball.
Among other things, he instilled in his children the value of education, the desire to strive, love of nature and the beauty of North Carolina, and the importance of Christ.
