Dexter Dean Hubbard Jr.

    Dexter Dean Hubbard Jr., 39, of Murphy, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 7, 2022.
    He was the son of Gwen Rose and Terry Waggoner and Dex and Ginger Hubbard.
    He was a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church and knew the Lord from a young age.
    Dexter loved people and laughter and enjoyed sharing that love with others. He was very loved by his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, snowboarding and riding a Harley.
    Dex was a self-employed construction worker and he excelled at heavy equipment operations so much that he considered it a hobby.
    In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Ali Amos and husband Zack of Murphy; one daughter, Brianna Anthony of Rimersburg, Pa.; paternal grandparents, Sue and Jim Hubbard of Murphy; maternal grandparents, Frank and Opal Rose of Hayesville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Hayesville. The Rev. Keith Nuckolls officiated. Moe Buckner honored him in song. Burial was at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Peachtree. Pallbearers were Moe Buckner, Josh Jones, John Henry Gaither, Zack Amos, Dustin Mayfield and Daniel Turner. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Hubbard and Frank Rose Jr.
    The family received friends from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Meadow Grove Baptist Church.
