    Clint C. Carson Jr. (Bap), 78, of West Jenkins Branch, went home at 7:23 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2022.
    A native of Hampton Va., and longtime resident of Bryson City, he was the son of the late Clint C. Carson Sr. and Ethel Keener Carson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Carson.
    He was a longtime trustee of Harmony Baptist Church in Bryson City.
    Cam was a chairman on the Soil and Water Board, as well as being on the Erosion Control Board. He was a school bus driver and auto mechanic teacher for Swain County High School. He was a Smoky Mountain Friends of NRA member.
    Cam was an avid Beagler and owner of Carson’s Littlerock Kennels as well as a lifelong farmer.
    Cam is survived by his wife of 43 years, Georgianna Mitchell Carson; two sons, Alan Cameron Carson (Alyssa), and Mitchell Cameron Carson (Amanda); one daughter, Tamatha Annette Carson; five grandchildren, Sinead Martinez (Rogelio), Liam Carson (Lori), Mary Carson, Cameron Lynn Carson (Cambap) and Macie Rue Carson; one great-granddaughter, Lianna Carson; and one sister, Joyce Carson Biggs (Bob).
    Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Friday at Harmony Baptist Church. The Revs. Tony Cochran and Lowell York will officiate with burial at Swain Memorial Park.
    The family received friends from noon-3 p.m. Friday at the church.
    Pallbearers will be Hank Monteiro, Bob Marr, Charles Payne, Ray Cloer, Lonnie Woodard, Tony Walls, Jay Kirkland and Scotty McMahan.
    In lieu of flowers, Cam requested that donations in his memory be made to Harmony Baptist Church at P.O. Box 2389, Bryson City, NC 28713.
