    Claude Edward Craig, 82, of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2021.
    Claude was born in Cherokee County to the late Robert and Ida Marie Swanson Craig.
    He was owner and operator of Craig’s Trout Farm and Snowbird Mountain Ice until his retirement.
    Claude was an avid Trump supporter. He loved woodworking, fly fishing and Georgia Bulldogs.
    He was a member of Grandview Baptist Church, Kennesaw Masonic Lodge No. 33 and was an Army Reserves veteran.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Robin Williams; brother, Robert Hughes; and sister, Catherine Brock.
    Claude is survived by his wife, Elma Craig; daughters, Shirley Patterson and husband Mark and her mother, Shelba Craig Owings, Connie Barnett, Amy Belec and husband Craig, and Sarrah Allen; son, Barry Allen and wife Sandi; son-in-law, Tony Williams; sister, Connie Wilson and husband John; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    A funeral service were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy. Pastor Jim Williams officiated. Burial was in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy with military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Post No. 96 Murphy, American Legion Post No. 532 Hayesville, and VFW Post No. 6812, Hayesville, and Masonic graveside rites. Pallbearers were Wendell Kidd, Bill Crisp, Preston Graves, Clifton Martin, Eugene Ware, Roger Powell, Ron McRae and Justin McRae. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Kephart and Tommy Stiles.
    The family received friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
    The family requested to practice social distancing.

    Townson-Rose Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
