Charles Robert Trantham, age 70 of Murphy, passed away on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022.
    He was born in Cherokee County to the late Rufus Rathbone and Mary Ellis Trantham. Charles was a foreman in the construction business, a renowned finish carpenter and had an outstanding work ethic. He was a great Dad and brother-in-law. Charles was a simple man, very honest and chivalrous. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran.
    In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Farley Trantham.
    Charles is survived by his “old lady” Mary “Roberta” Trantham; sons Christopher Raymond Trantham and Jonathan Brandon Trantham; daughter Kimberly Trantham and Cody Thrasher; brothers Clayton Trantham and Dewayne Trantham; and grandchildren, Eden Thrasher, Brandon Thrasher, Creek Thrasher and Malakai Kaysing.
    A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022 in Townson-Rose Funeral Home chapel in Murphy.
    Burial was at Owl Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donnie Johnson, Christopher Trantham, Jonathan Trantham, Andrew Cheeks, Cody Thrasher, Aaron Trantham and Joshua Trantham.
    The family received friends from noon-2pm prior to the service.
