    Charles Kenneth Queen, 86, of Murphy and Canton, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022.
    Charles was born Jan. 29, 1936, to the late Daniel Wayne Queen and Ruby Kate Bettis Queen.
    He had resided in Murphy where he graduated from Murphy High School and was blessed with many friendships and memories that he cherished throughout the years. Charles had made his home in Haywood County most recently.
    Mr. Queen had been employed as an electrician in the construction industry and was indeed a hardworking man and dedicated to his profession.
    Charles was a true outdoorsman and spent endless hours hunting, even bird hunting, among the mountains that he loved. He also had a great passion for fishing, especially at Snowbird Creek in Robbinsville. Charles loved to garden and he always grew a bounty of delicious vegetables to feed his family and share with friends. He was an innovative man and possessed the natural talent of being able to fix or repair anything.
    Mr. Queen was a man of strong faith and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Murphy.
    We give thanks for the life of Charles Kenneth Queen and the blessing he was to those who knew him and loved him. He shall never be forgotten.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Thomas Wayne Queen; a brother, Robert Earl Queen; and sisters, Dorothy Mae Graves and Barbara Queen.
    Surviving are his son, John W. Queen and Susan; grandchildren, Justina Goodman, James Goodman Jr.,  Kendra Queen and John Michael Queen and Victoria; great-grandchildren, James Goodman III, Wolfgang Goodman, Jagyr Goodman, Jianni Roqwell  “Roqi” Goodman; sisters, Margaret Lucille Ford and Wanda Ensley and Kenneth; a brother, Danny Queen; many nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.
    A service of remembrance for Mr. Queen will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, in the chapel of Crawford/Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Minister James Goodman Jr. will be officiating.
