Carolyn Totherow Sams, 70, of Murphy, passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021.
She was born in Cherokee County to the late Elbert and Carmel Rich Totherow.
Carolyn had worked for Cherokee County Social Services.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David “Leon” Sams; a daughter, Crystal Sams; and a brother, Elbert “Tiny” Totherow Jr.
She is survived by her son, Chad Sams and wife Krista; and grandchildren, Noah Sams and Kaelin Sams.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with the Rev. Warren Golden officiating. Pallbearers will be Ray Cote, Rusty Payne, Nic Smith, Robert Mashburn, Tony Sassman and Scott Helton. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
