Boyd H. Shields, 63, of Marble, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020.
Boyd was a man who walked this earth with a generous spirit and a big heart. His kindness and thoughtfulness were evident. He loved deeply his wife, Brenda; his daughters, Cindi and Amanda; and especially his grandchildren, Loyn and Ella.
Boyd cared deeply for his Murphy High School family, and in return they cared deeply for him. Boyd started his career with his school family in the late 1970s. He spent his career devoted to the school and community, retiring as principal in 2016.
Boyd was preceded in death by his father, Walter David Shields; and sons-in-law, David Cooper and Eric Howie.
He leaves behind with love, his wife, Brenda and the home they so lovingly built together. Als, he
leaves his precious mother, Betty; his daughters, Cindi Leatherwood (Scott), and Amanda Cooper (Mike); the light of his eyes, grandchildren, Loyn Howie, Ella Howie. Boyd cared deeply and loved his sisters, Leslie Hollowell (Jack) and Katrina Midgette (Barry). Nephews, David Hollowell, Logan Midgette, Avery Midgette, and great-nephews, Micah and Jase Hollowell inspired Boyd to be a better person with humor and smiles. Boyd touched many lives and will be missed.
To honor and rejoice his caring spirit, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
