    Blanche McBrayer Cook Coleman, 72, of Murphy, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Jan. 31, 2022.
    She was raised in Polk County, Tenn., and a 1967 graduate of Copper Basin High School.
    Blanche worked as a waitress for many years. She later became a hairstylist. For the past 20 years, Blanche found enjoyment providing meals for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Senior Center in Marble.
    Blanche was a devoted member of Hanging Dog Baptist Church, where she played the piano for many years. She was currently a member of Grape Creek Baptist Church.
    Blanche loved music and enjoyed playing the piano. She was a servant at heart and found joy in helping others.
    She was the daughter of the late Allen and Josephine McBrayer, and the wife of two husbands, the late Randall Cook, who died Jan. 16, 1996, and the late Steve Coleman, who died June 7, 2021. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, J.B. and Bruce McBrayer.
    Surviving are three daughters, Denise Cornett and husband Dell of Cumming, Ga., and Stephanie Worley and husband Paul and Jill Hamby and husband Jason, all of Murphy; a step-daughter, Beth Coleman McDonald and husband Jonathan of Murphy; a stepson, Matthew Coleman of Asheville; two sisters, Joyce Blackmon of Turtletown, Tenn., and Brenda Ellis and husband Greg of Cleveland, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Kristen and Preston Cornett, Madison Worley, Jaylan and Jonah Hamby, Kendra Gibson and husband Ben, Ashlyn Graves and husband Westley, Bailey Brown, and Jacob and Elynor McDonald; two great-grandsons, Blane and Troy Gibson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, with the Revs. Greg Swain and Fred Lunsford officiating. The interment was in Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dell Cornett, Jason Hamby, Paul Worley, Jonah Hamby, Preston Cornett and Jonathan McDonald.
    The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
    Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, was in charge of all arrangements.
