Betty Elizabeth Sudderth, 71, of Hayesville, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2021.
She was born in Hayesville to the late Oliver and Margie Ruth Powell Sudderth.
Betty loved singing, reading her Bible and was a devout Christian. She enjoyed writing poems and songs. Betty also enjoyed helping others and especially spending time with her family. She was a U.S. Marine veteran.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Steven Sudderth, and two nieces, Monica Stiles and Shannon Sudderth.
She is survived by her children, Marjorie Nicely of Conyers, Ga., Jeremy Sudderth and wife Cynthia of Murphy, and Bradley Sudderth of Conyers, Ga.; one nephew, Jermel Sudderth; two sisters-in-law, Janet Sudderth and Sandra Sudderth, both of Murphy; grandchildren, Deseantae Sudderth, Devante Sudderth, Tionne Nicely, Saaliyah Sudderth, Tyannah Nicely and Kadeesha Sudderth; and two step grandchildren, Eli and Janica Mulkey.
The family received family and friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy. Inurnment followed in Herbert Hills Cemetery in Hayesville.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
