    Barbara Thompson Shore, 72, was born March 22, 1949, and passed away Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, from a long battle with kidney and liver disease.
    Barbara was born in Sylva, N.C., and grew up in Murphy. She attended Murphy High School in North Carolina and Young Harris College in Georgia before a career in banking in Atlanta, Ga. That is where she met the love of her life, Steve Shore. She also lived in St. Louis, Mo.; Southlake, Texas; and most recently Frisco, Texas.
    Barbara had many hobbies including ceramics, crafting, scrapbooking, traveling and shopping. While her children were young, she served in the PTA and was a constant volunteer at their school. She was also a huge sports fan and had a passion for football.
    She will always be remembered for devoting her entire life to taking care of others. Her love for family and friends were what defined her as a person, and she would do anything to help someone else in need.
    Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Steve Shore; daughter, Stephanie Shore; parents, John and Docia Thompson; and sister, Wanda Thompson.
    Barbara was survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Anna Shore of Celina, Texas; grandchildren, Carter and Sophie Shore of Celina, Texas; brother, Tom Thompson of Savannah, Ga.; brother-in law, David Shore of Alpharetta, Ga., sister in-law, Katie Spayd of Watkinsville, Ga.; five nieces, one nephew; and many cousins.
    A memorial service was held Saturday, Feb. 19, in Celina, Texas.
