    Angelo Orloff, 80, of Marble, passed away Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, at his residence.
    Angelo had made a career within the U.S. Military, beginning in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Germany. He then joined the U.S. Army Reserves, and finally joined the U.S. Navy Reserves, where he ended his career as a Seabee, for a total of 25 years with the U.S. Military. Throughout those years, he had worked jobs from heavy equipment operator to drill sergeant.
    Angelo had also worked for the United States Postal Service until retirement.
    Angelo loved going to Rowland Hill Baptist Church with his wife, Carol. He also enjoyed bingo and working on anything from homes to cars.
    He was a member and past secretary for the Disabled American Veterans.
    He was born to the late Angelo and Florence Orloff, and was the husband of the late Carol Marcie Orloff, who died Feb. 23, 2017.
    Surviving are a daughter, Theresa VanDerhoof of Las Vegas, Nev.; a son, Michael Orloff of Robbinsville; one sister, Violet Giersdorf and husband Ron of South Carolina; one brother, Victor Orloff of Florida; four grandchildren, Joshua VanDerhoof, Yvette VanDerhoof, Skyler VanDerhoof and Jeremy VanDerhoof; and seven great-grandchildren, Clayton, Autumn, Bentley, Aiden, Mavryck, Braxtyn and Arya.
    A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, with the Rev. Matt Mull officiating. Military honors will be provided by Murphy American Legion Post 96, Hayesville VFW Post 6812 and Hayesville American Legion Post 532.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-3000.
