    Alan Kent Hawkins, 59, of Murphy, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022.
    He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, and the son of Marvin and Grace Osborne Hawkins of Murphy.
    Alan and his dad, Marvin, were co-founders of Tirezans. He loved working on old cars. Alan also loved collecting and dealing with knives. He was co-founder of the Grease Pit Misfits Car Club.
    In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Upchurch Hawkins; one son, Josh Hawkins and wife Melissa; two grandchildren, Jessica Hawkins and Rylan Hawkins; aunt, Patsy Marie Mathis of Elkin; great-nephew, Bobby Totherow; cousins, Keith Hawkins and wife Debbie, Tom Hawkins and wife Terry, and Ed and Judy Holmes; and special friend, Kal Reynolds.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 27, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Rev. Jerry Beavers officiated. Burial was in Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joshua Hawkins, Johnathan Moreland, Ray Cote, Ray Ray Cote, Jason Coates and Mitchell Prince. Honorary pallbearer was Jermel Sudderth. The family received friends from noon-2 p.m. Sunday, March 27, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
