About 6:01 p.m. March 14, a two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Bulldog Drive. The Murphy Fire Department, N.C. Highway Patrol and Cherokee County Emergency Medical Services responded. The westbound lane of U.S. 19 was blocked while roadway debris was cleaned up. No extrication was needed, and no one involved in the accident was taken to the hospital. According to law enforcement officials, a yield violation was the cause of the collision.
