Tri-County Community College hosted a graduation ceremony for the latest class of the Basic Law Enforcement Training program on Nov. 8.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is welcoming two new graduate deputies – Robert Manning and Hunter Dezess. The recruits were working at the Cherokee County Detention Center in Murphy while in BLET.
Manning transferred to the sheriff office from Detention on Nov. 12, while Dezess will remain employed at the detention center until a full-time position opens.
Sheriff Dustin Smith extended his thanks to TCCC’s Law Enforcement Training Center for “unwavering support and commitment to excellence, which contributes significantly to the strength and readiness of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and the broader law enforcement community in our region,” according to a release.
