Murphy – Tri-County Community College hosted its annual commencement ceremony on May 5.
This year, Tri-County Community College awarded a total of 278 associate degrees, nine diplomas and 17 certificates. Additionally, during the college’s High School Equivalency graduation on May 6, Tri-County Community College awarded 16 High School Equivalency diplomas and 25 adult high school diplomas.
Dr. Donna Tipton-Rogers, president of Tri-County, expressed her pride in the graduating class.
“Each graduating class that comes through this college has a story to tell; each individual graduate has a story to tell,” Tipton-Rogers said.
“These are stories of joy, sorrow, heartache and grace of great difficulty, small successes and great triumphs. Tonight is a triumph. These are stories that help make lives better, and here at Tri-County, we are so appreciative that you have allowed us to add to your story.”
The record-breaking number of graduates this year is a testament to the college’s dedication to academic excellence and student success, according to a release.
As the graduates prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives, they carry with them the experiences and knowledge gained during their time at Tri-County. Equipped with their degrees, diplomas and certificates, they are prepared to go into their fields and communities, the release says.
