Scout brings home 11 honors in state contest

Raleigh – The Cherokee Scout, the primary news source for Cherokee and surrounding counties since 1889, picked up 11 honors during the 2023 N.C. Press Association’s editorial and advertising contest.

Winners were announced at the Sheraton on Aug. 24 during the NCPA’s annual convention. Members of the Alabama Press Association judged this year’s North Carolina contest.

“I’m incredibly proud to work with such a dedicated team of people, past and present,” Scout Publisher David Brown said. “Every week, our associates do their best to give readers something to really sink their teeth into. Thanks so much for reading and keeping community journalism alive.”
