Peachtree – Rain and colder temperatures didn’t keep folks away from the annual Peachtree Community Center Holiday Arts & Crafts Festival on Saturday.
Vendors were set up inside as well as outside and offered everything from hats, painted gloves, gnome trees, Christmas wreaths, lighted fairy jars and hand-sewn teddy bears as well as soaps, lotions, lavender bundles, handcrafted wood items, jewelry and much more. Outside vendors did struggle with wind and cold temperatures, but were still happy to be at the event.
A silent auction kept folks busy signing up for their favorite items, including pillows, beard oils, a wall painting, a gourd snowman, tumblers, a wine basket, candles, clothing and more objects of desire.
Vickie Dries said of her time spent at the festival, “It’s nice to get out, and I love craft fairs.”
She purchased hot chocolate kits for her granddaughters. Dries plans on wrapping and giving them as gifts now but telling the girls not to open them until Christmas.
Mike LaLone was on hand doing pottery demonstrations while folks looked on.
There was plenty of food for purchase as well as candy, cookies, cupcakes and other treats for those who enjoy a bite while shopping. Veterans were treated to a hot dog or sausage biscuit in appreciation for their service.
Vendor Anita Tison said, “I’m delighted to be here. We’ve had a great crowd today, and everyone has been in the holiday spirit. It’s been an enjoyable day.”
