MURPHY
Changes set at town hall
Significant improvements are underway to enhance customer service at Murphy Town Hall and Murphy Electric Power Board. Soon, both offices will transition to a single, shared entrance and lobby, replacing the two separate entrances at opposite ends of the building.
This update means customers will no longer need to navigate a long hallway to pay bills or establish service, according to a release from Mayor Tim Radford.
The Water Department payment window is being relocated closer to the Power Board window, offering greater convenience for those managing both water and electric accounts. Upon entering the new shared lobby, the Power Board will be accessible on the left, with the Water Department and City Administration offices located to the right.
In addition to the lobby modifications, customer parking is being expanded. Spaces in front of and alongside the Cherokee County Historical Museum and former police department are open for public use.
Town officials said these changes are designed to enhance the overall customer experience and ensure visits to Town Hall and Murphy Electric Power Board are more efficient for everyone.
