Hiwassee Dam – The Tri-state MINIs Group Poker Run was held Saturday under slightly overcast skies and cool temperatures, but thankfully rain held off until the event was over.

While due to the weather and this being the first year for the event attendance was lower than hoped, all participants had a great time and the Pediatric Cancer Treatment Foundation was able to raise $1,821, according to Robert Trigueros, director of the Pediatric Cancer Treatment Foundation.

Best Hand, with a cash prize of $500, was won by Cody Pudelski of Franklin. Two Appalachian Driving Experience certificates were won by participants from Murphy and Asheville.

Trigueros thanked Tri-state MINIs and sponsors Appalachian Driving Experience, Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort, Bavarian Repair, Mountain Valley Motors, Cherokee Guns, Dr. Dan Eichenbaum, COSPRO Marketing, War Dawgs & BBQ, Appalachian Motorcycle Guided Tours, Fields of the Wood and the Cherokee Scout for their support.

“Our profound thanks go to the volunteers and participants,” he said. For details, email rtrigueros.pctf@att.net or visit the website www.pctf-foundation.org.
