By the time you get around to seeing this, my wife and I will have had our Moderna booster shot.
But some of you need to change your ways.
The vast numbers of unvaccinated people are keeping Covid-19 alive and dangerous, providing a human reservoir of potential victims to keep the plague going.
And apparently proud of it. Willing to spew illness and possible death in the faces of their loved ones and strangers alike.
Everyone needs to get the Covid vaccine shots. If they had done so earlier, we would have put it behind us by now.
But as it is, the virus will be a threat for the forseeable future because of the high numbers of willing hosts who reject the vaccine.
Change of minds
It’s almost funny, but not quite, how minds and attitudes can change so quickly.
People who loudly rejected the vaccine, for any number of fake reasons, said they knew more than all the doctors and their stupid shots.
Then the Covid hits them, and they’re on their knees suddenly begging the doctors to give them a shot, any shot, that might save them from dying. Praying to God, “Why did this terrible thing happen to me?”
Reminds me of the tale about the man in a flood in Louisiana who took refuge on the roof of his submerged house. Rescue squad sent a boat to get him twice and he refused, saying the Lord was going to save him. Said the same thing when he refused a helicopter.
Died and went to heaven and asked the Lord why He hadn’t saved him. Lord said “I sent a helicopter and two boat crews … what were you waiting for?”
Violation of whose rights?
On television you see and hear some confused pilgrim saying the shots violate their rights. Let’s talk about that a little, right here.
You do not have the right to reject the vaccine, and here’s why. As an active member of society who mixes with the public it is your duty, as a responsible citizen, to get the shots.
If you live on a deserted island or hidden away alone in a mountain cave, it would be OK not to get the shot. But you don’t.
So you have no right to be an invisible threat to the rest of us by welcoming the Covid, refusing the shots, snorting out infection with every breath.
We the people have the right to breathe clean air, free of contamination. Your rights end when they destroy some other person’s rights.
So when you turn down the vaccine shots you have become a real enemy of the people. Think about it.
Mandates needed
Unfortunately mandates are needed – everyone should get the shots – but who would have thought we’d have to be ordered to get a shot that benefits everybody, the recipient as well as folks around him.
Do you really want illness and death for your own family? And friends? Do you think spreading Covid is the best way to do this? What were you thinking?
If the skeptical attitude toward science had been around years ago, then America could never have beaten polio and smallpox.
Forget the quacks and crackpots – there is no logical argument against wearing masks or getting the vaccine. They are your biblical sword and shield against the killer.
Before it mutates again into something even more dangerous, please go to your health department and get your free government shots against Covid-19.
