    About 150 people at lunchtime Thursday turned out to a National Day of Prayer event on the steps of the Cherokee County Courthouse in downtown Murphy, led by local pastors and a team from the World School of Prayer in South Korea. The event, dubbed Praying on the Mountain, included stops across western North Carolina by the South Korean prayer group. In Cherokee County, the group started the day at Murphy Church of God in the morning and, after the courthouse event, moved on to Murphy First Baptist Church, MountainView Church, Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church and Little Brasstown Baptist Church.
