Clarkesville, Ga. – North Georgia Technical College named Tina Dellaposta of Murphy, N.C., the 2023 Employee of the Year at the college’s annual service awards luncheon.
Dellaposta, a student success coach on the Blairsville campus, has been employed by the college since 2013 and previously served as bookstore assistant and in the library part time. She is also a 23-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and an NGTC graduate.
Dellaposta was nominated by fellow staff members and was complimented on her welcoming spirit, joyful attitude and willingness to always go above and beyond to help students, faculty and staff members.
“I’m very humbled and honored to receive this award,” Dellaposta said.
“Though I am very grateful, I recognize this as a team award because it takes a team to ensure our students are provided exceptional customer service along with a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Everyone at NGTC works hard, so it is a privilege to be selected to hold this team award for the year. I am very thankful to work with this outstanding NGTC team.”
“Tina deserves this award as recognition of her standard of excellence in serving students and helping them achieve their goals,” said Dr. Vinson Burdette, vice president of student affairs. “She exemplifies the positive and encouraging approach of meeting students where they are and prioritizing their best interests. Tina is positive, engaging, resourceful and supportive. We are glad to have her on our team.”
Dellaposta lives in Murphy and enjoys serving through her church, traveling, reading and spending time with her family and pets.
NGTC President John Wilkinson also presented the 2023 Employee Service Awards, recognizing those who have given distinguished years of service to NGTC and the Technical College System of Georgia. Five-year service employees included Dellaposta.
