Murphy – Teresa Gibby is a nurse in Blue Ridge, Ga., a mother of two with one grandchild, who loves to do crafts, spend time with her family, and has a passion and appreciation of firearms.

Gibby has also been participating in an annual competition held by Inked Magazine. The contest awards the first-place winner $25,000, an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City for a private tattoo session with a famous artist and a two-page spread in Inked.

Gibby placed fifth in her group in the competition.

“I thought I could be the hometown gal that gets to win,” she said. “If I had won, I would have used the $25,000 for a down payment on a home. Plus, a trip and tattoo sounded awesome.”

Gibby entered the contest for more than just the cash prize and trip.

“A lot of my tattoos are done by local artists Donnie, Dawn and Daniel from DoubleTap Tattoo & Tactical,” she said. “I enjoyed being able to show their artwork off in the contest. My tattoos reflect my personality and represent my family.”

This is more than a contest, as Inked Magazine is a co-founder of the Coalition Against Childhood Cancer and one of the largest providers of financial assistance to families of kids with cancer in the United States. Each vote a person receives is a dollar donated to the Andrew McDonough Foundation for the purpose of supporting the fight against childhood cancer.
