Gifts, food and TV make happy Kia customers

Murphy – Folks at Lifetime Kia showed their appreciation for customers and visitors at the dealership on Aug. 31, with food and the chance to win some swag, including a 64-inch color television.

Folks were eating, children were coloring and others on the lot were looking at available vehicles for sale.

Jerri Delaney of Hiawassee, Ga., was a happy customer with her purchase of vehicle from the lot. It was a bittersweet moment.

“I kind of have mixed feelings because the car I’m trading in is the last car my husband rode in before he died,” she said. “It had a lot of miles, and I need something I can depend on not breaking down on me now that I’m by myself, so I’m excited.”

Amari Bryant of Ranger was the day’s grill master, as he was busy cooking up hot dogs for visitors to the event.

The lucky winners of three separate prizes were Robert Faye of Blairsville, Ga., who won a basket of goodies for movie watching and a $50 gift certificate; and Tonya Dyer also of Blairsville, winner of a basket filled with car-care items as well as a $50 certificate.

The happy winner of the grand prize – the TV – was Portia Ledford, who giggled while saying, “I think it’s awesome, it’s really cool and I’m so surprised.”

The Kia dealership on U.S. 64 West plans to have other events, such as blood drives, car washes, a Halloween Trunk or Treat, Thanksgiving food drives, pet adoptions and Toys for Tots, according to Randi Stewart.

Stewart is Kia’s customer service representative, with plans to bring both fun and show appreciation to the community.

“Since I’ve been here, I’ve felt like this is home. I love everyone here, and this is a great place to work,” she said.

Jackson Matthews, 4, of Murphy, appeared oblivious to the activities around him, but he seemed to enjoy coloring in the coloring books provided by the dealership. He did say, “I ate the whole hot dog bun.”
