Tickets are available for this year’s Forks & Cork: Local Savor 2025 on Thursday, June 5, at The Hackney Warehouse, 11 Railroad St. in downtown Murphy. Doors open at 5 p.m. The menu will include samples of local cuisine from top restaurants, caterers, breweries, wineries and more. This year’s event will also feature live music by Denise Moore Vintage Jazz, event passport, raffle and more. Those attending may vote for their favorites. Alcoholics Anonymous Intergroup serving western North Carolina, north Georgia and southeastern Tennessee has moved its office to 40 Town Square, Suite E., in Blairsville, Ga. Culberson Volunteer Fire Department will hold a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the fire station on N.C. 60.

The first Extreme West meeting of the N.C. Bluebird Society will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Downtown Pizza Co., 52 Hiawassee St. in Murphy. President Iris Senzig and board member Carol Reid of the NCBS will discuss the latest ways to help bluebirds continue to thrive and answer any questions. Pizza buffet will be available. Anyone interested in becoming a ham radio operator is welcome to attend the monthly meeting of the Appalachia Amateur Radio Club. Meetings are held at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at First Baptist Church of Murphy across from McDonald’s. Amateur radio is critical when natural disasters or large-scale power outages occur. Members offer advice and help in securing a FCC license. Volunteers from Andrews Seventh-day Adventist Church and Grace Fellowship Baptist Church will distribute Manna Foods of Asheville from noon-1:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the Andrews Senior Center, Main and Park streets in Andrews. The Cherokee Clay Food Alliance and Still Waters Landing Farm invite everyone to The Big Table, a fundraiser that supports both organizations’ missions to provide farm-fresh food from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Brasstown Community Civic Center. The “Focus on Women’s Health – Supporting the Heart of Western North Carolina,” a free event, will be held Saturday, May 17, at Andrews United Methodist Church, 100 Chestnut St. The day will include the vendor hall from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and an educational program from 1-4 p.m. Door prizes will be given.
