Born in 1979 in Baltimore, Crow would come to realize that a spinal birth condition and several accidents would make doing most things difficult and painful for her.
The mother of three children and two fur-babies describes her artwork as whimsical. She enjoys painting animals, flowers and landscape, and her favorite objects are animals.
Crow’s painting challenges are the faces of people. If she were to be asked to commission a painting of someone’s loved one it would be difficult for her.
“It’s a lot of pressure,” she said. “I don’t want to not paint it exactly like their person or fur-baby.”
Crow’s work can be seen at the Murphy Art Center as well as ShoeBooties restaurant downtown. She gives credit for her talent to God.
She enjoyed growing up in Cape Coral, Fla.
“It was fun because no one really lived there,” Crow said. “It was funny because it was a big old town.”,
She graduated from Mariner High School in the same city before going to work for her father’s business WAF Homes Inc., where she worked her way from the bottom up to the position of vice president until the recent passing of her beloved father.
Crow attended Texas State Technical College, studying commercial arts and advertising, before going on to Edison Community College earning associate’s of arts and associate’s of science degrees in liberal arts and computer applications. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in sociology and continued her education at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Her favorite colors are teal blue, hunter green, black and brown. Crow enjoys walking, gardening and bird watching. She loves flowers; her favorites are yellow tulips.
Crow and her artwork can be seen during the last two weekends in April on the Smokey Mountain Art Tour, which is presented by the Valley River Arts Guild.
The accomplishments she is most proud of in her life are her children. She has been married for 17 years to her husband, Sam.
Crow today, she plans on being right where she’s at.
