Ranger – A Hot House man faces charges in a Nov. 11, 2023, vehicle crash that killed a man from Blue Ridge, Ga.
Matthew Scott Hicking, 49, was arrested and booked on charges of misdemeanor death by vehicle, reckless driving to endanger and driving while impaired. He was arrested on Jan. 30 and posted bond the same day.
Hicking is charged in the death of Keith Ledford. His unidentified son was injured and received hospital care. Hicking was severely injured and taken to a trauma center for treatment.
Hicking was driving a Nissan Murano SUV west on U.S. 64 West near Ranger Elementary School around 2 p.m. Nov. 11 when his vehicle into the opposing lane and struck Ledford’s eastbound Ford Ecosport. Ledford died on the scene.
