Andrews – The Andrews Board of Alderman worked on the recently approved social district during the Aug. 14 meeting.
The board approved signage for the social district, which will include QR codes with a detailed maps of the area, Town Administrator Tammy Holloway said.
Town Finance Officer Ethan McCubbin said details are still being worked out regarding the beverage cups and stickers participating businesses will be responsible for providing for consumers. The town is working to finalize prices for the cups, and hopefully the signs will be up around town in the next couple of weeks.
Mayor James Reid said the town wants to make sure the best items are provided for everyone to responsibly enjoy the social district, which will allow containers of alcohol on downtown streets. Hopefully, the details will be finalized by the Andrews Chamber of Commerce’s annual Oktoberfest event Saturday, Sept. 27.
