Murphy – Three local thirty-somethings have been arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly trafficking in methamphetamine.
According to a release, in the early morning hours of May 1, a sheriff’s deputy was patrolling an area known for illegal drug activity. The deputy observed a vehicle with a Georgia registration plate leave the area.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop and, upon identifying the individuals, he developed probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle. That’s when the deputy found a trafficking amount of suspected meth along with paraphernalia. During the booking process, an additional amount of meth was located that was secretly hidden on one of the three suspects.

David Anthony Corso, 38, was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center for trafficking in methamphetamine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia. The magistrate set a $50,000 secure bond. Corso is scheduled to appear in Cherokee County District Court on May 12, 2022.

John Daniel Reece II, 32, was booked into the jail for trafficking in methamphetamine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia. The magistrate set a $50,000 secure bond. Reece is scheduled to appear in District Court on May 12.

Jenny Marie Davenport, 37, was booked into the jail for trafficking in methamphetamine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance; possession of controlled substance in prison/jail premises; maintain a place for controlled substances; possession of marijuana paraphernalia and expired registration card/tag. The magistrate set a $100,000 secure bond, Davenport is scheduled to appear in District Court on May 12.
