Murphy – Valley River Chevrolet held its highly anticipated grand opening event Saturday for the dealership’s new multimillion-dollar Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Service Center.
The new service center was designed with large trucks and RVs in mind and can handle up to Class 8 vehicles. Where other service centers in the area are limited by height, weight or length, the 8.000-square-foot facility features 22-foot ceilings at the lowest point, 16-foot-tall garage doors and special ARI-Hetra mobile lifts capable of bearing 32,000 pounds per axle ensuring there are no limitations.
Owner Bryan Tiller saw that there was a need for this level of service in the area and wanted to fill the gap he saw.
Several members of the community expressed excitement and gratitude for the opportunity the service center creates for the area. “So many businesses here utilize larger trucks, whether it’s a garbage truck or a log truck, but haven’t had a place to have these vehicles repaired and regularly serviced.”
Others shared that this service center was going to benefit their business and personal life by saving money on travel and towing. “Normally our vehicles would be sent toward Asheville or Atlanta. It’s going to help our business save money having this service center locally.”
While this event was to celebrate the opening of this facility Tiller simply loves to find any opportunity to bring the community together. The employees of Valley River Chevrolet were handing out free hot dogs, chips, and drinks to all attendees with areas for everyone to mingle and enjoy each other’s company and the Farmhouse Food Trailer was serving a variety of food and drinks.
The Snowie Snow Cone & Shaved Ice Bus gave out free snow cones featuring a variety of flavor choices. Tiller loves to support the community and has a passion for animals, so this event doubled as an adoption event for the Valley River Humane Society. The Andrews Shooting Team was sharing about their accomplishments at recent competitions and selling raffle tickets that help to support the team in purchasing equipment and uniforms and support their travel costs. The service center was open and taped off to allow attendees of the event the opportunity to safely explore the service center and feature displays and demonstrations of the lifts.
“We’re excited to bring this service to the community and can’t wait to help fill a gap for local individuals and businesses,” said a service manager with Valley River Chevrolet.
