Murphy – Mary L. Brown-Wilson will be holding two book signings to promote and celebrate the publishing of her second book, What Has Been Revealed Has Already Been Redeemed: Rejoice in the Knowing.
On Friday, she will be at the Murphy Public Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Sunday, she will be signing books at the Cherokee County Recreation Department building behind the Rock Gym at 5 p.m.
Brown-Wilson began writing under Dr. Carl Dockery at Tri-County Community College, where she did editing for Road Runner Review and wrote for community newsletters. Her first book, Mary & A Half: Me Myself & I, took her nearly 14 years to write and was published in 2020. The autobiographical memoir explored her childhood to adulthood, and all the good and bad times in between.
What Has been Revealed Has Already Been Redeemed: Rejoice in the Knowing is a project Brown-Wilson has been working on for the last three years.
“I would sit down to start writing at 5 p.m. and wouldn’t stop until 4-6 in the morning five or six nights a week,” she said. “I dedicated a lot more time to my routine with this book.”
Brown-Wilson’s book uses biblical belief to better understand the political and social unrest that’s happening in the world.
“Personally, it’s times like these when we need to understand the biblical side of things so we can accept and open our eyes to what is happening and be more informed,” she said.
Brown-Wilson gives the credit to God. At times, she felt like this book was her calling, her way to share His word and teachings with others.
“This is the only way I can help,” she said. “I have so much in my heart and mind. I care so deeply about people and needed to share.”
Brown-Wilson understands this is a time of great political disagreement.
“I’ve seen a lot of stuff, but I’ve never seen things like we are now. Not in politics, not in society, not even in the weather. Between wars and the cost of living going up the world is a scary and dangerous place,” she said.
“Yet, it’s all part of a design for his return. You don’t have to agree with me, and I don’t have to agree with you, but we can all learn from God.”
Brown-Wilson said she appreciates everyone who supports her new book.
“Of course, I think it’s a good book, but I hope everyone can learn from it,” she said. “It took me a long time to get to know God personally, and I just want to help others do the same.”
