Andrews – The Andrews Public Library will join the annual Spring Fling celebration Friday, April 25, with several activities for students in grades 3-5 at Andrews Elementary School.
Several stations will be set up for students to meet Smokey Bear. The library will also have its annual “From Caterpillars to Butterflies” display, where students can witness the metamorphosis of these winged creatures.
On Saturday, April 26, the library will hold a meet-and-greet book signing with author Laura Fotusky, who will have copies of her book Walking Together: From Trauma to Trust available. The book focuses on helping children overcome and navigate traumatic experiences from transitioning from foster care to natural disasters to help the healing process.
Also on hand for April 26, Tony Bryant will be showcasing his collection of Native American artifacts from the area. The Andrews Chamber of Commerce puts on the Spring Fling as an extension of Earth day.
